33 Lush staff and friends took part in 3 death defying tests of nerves and endurance – one even on Friday 13th!  They raised money to buy a second threshing machine for the women of Kwinella and surrounding areas in the Gambia. Threshing the rice is a daily back breaking routine performed under strong sunshine and often has to be done with a baby on their bac and a threshing machine makes a world of difference. It saves their back, saves time and because the machine enables an amount of starch to be removed from the rice, feeds animals too.
