Welcome to the Fresh Start Foundation
The Fresh Start Foundation was established in 2006 by Lamin and Rebecca Daffeh in order to support orphans and other vulnerable children in The Gambia, West Africa. The Fresh Start Foundation is a registered charity in the United Kingdom and a registered Non Government Organisation (NGO) in The Gambia.
FSF supports children, youth and rural communities who are living in poverty by providing:
• Rural schools with resources;
• Conducive learning environments through renovations and restorations;
• Basic Healthcare provisions;
• Training and Employment;
• Food;
• Water;
• Sanitation;
• Support to community projects e.g. village water & rice milling machines.
Our mission
FSF exists to contribute towards the alleviation of poverty by providing a conducive learning environment for extremely vulnerable children and young people, supporting their access to an uninterrupted education and training that develops their skills, self awareness and self reliance, consequently achieving personal success.
Vision
FSF is looking for stable funding streams from organisations, schools and individual donors to develop and sustain our current projects. FSF will be building a community based centre for children and young people to access: recreational activities, skilled based training that will enhance employment opportunities, emotional support, advice on sexual health, HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases.
