Education on Climate Change
Fresh Start Foundation with the support of the Global Environment Fund under the United Nation Development Programme conducted a one day lesson on climate change and its adverse effects at Kwinella Upper Basic School on the 10th December 2011. Eighty students with their environmental teachers attended from the Kwinella Lower and Upper Basic Schools.
The purpose of the day was to enhance the students understanding of climate change and its adverse effect on agriculture, forestry, woodland ecosystems, health, rangelands, livestock and water resources and to encourage the students to become more involved in the management of natural resources.
This is just the first session of many and FSF aim to hold each individual session at as many schools as possible and to plant 1200 trees that will benefit the community and the environment.
